Founder and CEO Jeff Bouchy’s connection to the sport began in 1992 as a fan of the Arizona Rattlers. He later became a minority owner and operator of the Orlando Predators (1998–2002) before founding the Jacksonville Sharks in 2010. Under his leadership, the Sharks reached 100 victories faster than all but one franchise in Arena Football League history and won ArenaBowl XXIV in their second season, defeating the Arizona Rattlers.
The name also reflects Bouchy’s influence on the game. When he founded the National Arena League (NAL), he introduced the Deuce, a scoring play that awards two points when a kickoff sails through the opponent’s uprights.
